Marcus nauta est et in insula magna habitat. Ipse cotidie multos lapides portat et viam struit. Hodie, Marcus aquam de porta in domum suam portavit. Puella, quae in silva ambulabat, Marcum spectavit. "Salve, Marcus!" inquit. "Tu bene laboras!"

Marcus is a sailor and lives on a large island. Every day, he carries many stones and builds the road. Today, Marcus carried water from the gate into his house. The girl, who was walking in the forest, saw Marcus. "Hello, Marcus!" she said. "You are working well!"
Marcus smiled and responded, "Thank you, girl. Now I will prepare dinner for my family." Then Marcus walked to the forum, where he could buy wine and grain.
In his house, Marcus dined with his family and talked about farming matters. He also spoke about wars and ancient kingdoms. "I want to study history and distant lands," Marcus said.
"What is your plan?" asked the girl. "I want to do good work," Marcus replied.
