Overview
1st Conjugation verbs in Latin have an infinitive form that ends in -āre, such as amare (to love). The present tense endings are added to the verb stem, obtained by removing -āre from the infinitive.
Example (amare - to love)
Singular Endings
1st person: -o
2nd person: -as
3rd person: -at
Singular
1st person: amo (I love)
2nd person: amas (you love)
3rd person: amat (he/she/it loves)
Plural Endings
1st person: -o
2nd person: -as
3rd person: -at
Plural
1st person: amamus (we love)
2nd person: amatis (you all love)
